Extending/Restoring the Service Life of Asphaltic and concrete Pavements
Eko-Seal PCMO®, is a durable polymer composite micro-overlay (PCMO) that bonds securely to asphalt pavement, chip seal, polished stone and other bituminous products, as well as concrete and primed metal.

Eko-Seal PCMO® can be applied directly over old chip seal or other resurfacing products and will eliminate the loose rock problem that causes broken windshields associated with chip seal

Eko-Seal PCMO® is a High Performance Cement Mix Pavement
Asphalt pavements wouldn’t endure environmental effects and other exposure from ultraviolet light, water, aggressive chemical spills, and abrasion. Water and UV exposure strips the pavement of its asphaltic binder, which causes fading, hardening and brittleness (oxidation). This condition leads to cracking, subsequent crack wall erosion, and asphalt aggregate being unfettered from its binder, triggering deterioration of the pavement surface.

In 1996 a research and development project was initiated by our sister company to address these problems. The result ended in the development of PCMO® a Micro Overlay product which we named Eko-Seal PCMO® entered into a cooperative research and development agreement with the Army Corp of Engineers to fully test the PCMO® product’s ability to preserve asphaltic pavements by protecting them from damaging environmental exposure and abrasion. The Eko-Seal PCMO® product was installed at the US Army Corp of Engineers Experimental Water ways Station in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and was the subject of laboratory and other in-situ tests. The results of these studies and tests indicate exceptional performance in all categories, leading to the installation of this pavement protection system on all types of PCC and asphaltic pavements. The FAA has approved the use of the PCMO® product through the publishing of Engineering Brief 62.

In addition to providing extended pavement life, Eko-Yol products, through the integration of properly Sieved, graded aggregates into the surface material, can also provide a long lasting friction and wearing course micro-overlay that can restore old pavements to new friction standards, or provide new asphaltic surfaces with a friction and wearing surface.

S. What is Eko sealtm?
C. Eko sealtm is a patented Polymer Composite Micro- Overlay process (PCMO), that contains specially sized aggregates, Portland cement and acrylic modifiers.

S. What is it designed to do?
C. Eko sealtm can be applied over asphalt roads and will protect the surface for 20 + years. It will eliminate asphalt’s greatest problems such as water intrusion, oxidation, and U.V. degradation.

S. Will it protect asphalt from automotive fuels?
C. Yes ! Eko sealtm is completely impervious to all fuels, oils, and automotive fluids.

S. Is Eko sealtm environmentally safe?
C. Yes ! Eko sealtm has no harmful ingredients to either humans or the environment!

S. How thick is Eko sealtm?
C. Eko sealtm is best applied at 1/8 inch thick. The strength of the material is in the thinness not in the thickness. It will last 4 times longer than 11/2 inches of asphalt because, Eko sealtm, unlike asphalt, is not affected by the elements.

S. Can I put Eko sealtm over failed Asphalt and Old Chip Seal?
C. Yes but, You must not wait too long. If the base has eroded from severe oxidation it may require too much material to stabilize. The base must be in “fair” shape. We cannot cure pavement cancer but we can prevent it from happening.

S. Can the Eko sealtm be colored?
C. Absolutely. It comes in standard light gray or it can be specially ordered in all the primary colors.

S. Does Eko sealtm have a written warranty?
C. Yes ! Eko sealtm has a written 10 year warranty from the manufacturer.

S. Will Eko sealtm Crack?
C. Not on its own. It will only crack if the base cracks, and then the cracks do not widen from loss of aggregate, ( crack wall erosion ) the way asphalt does.

S. Can you repair a crack in Eko sealtm?
C. Yes ! Approximately every five years if a crack appears in the base simply pour Eko saeltm liquid into the crack.

S. How long has the present formulation been around?
C. Eko sealtm was invented in Mississippi in 1996 and has been used in all types of applications such as interstate bridge decks, airport taxiways, B-1 Bomber parking pads, parking lot overlays, asphalt road overlays, bank and fast food drive thru’s, oil spot repair, off-shore oil helidecks, barge decks, and work boat walkways.

S. Why have I not heard of Eko sealtm PCMO before now?
C. Because for the first time in 10 years Eko sealtm is less expensive than asphalt and chip seal overlays, due to the escalating price of oil and asphalt.
